What Is ISO?
ISO stands for International Organisation for Standardisation which was founded in 1947 and provides international guidance for issues concerning proprietary, industrial and commercial standards.
ISO standards are used as guidance for the development and manufacturing of products and services insuring that the results are safe, reliable and of good quality.
The ISO 9001 Certification Process
ISO Certification depends on how large your company is and what systems your currently have in place. On average ISO certification for small to medium sized companies will rage between 6 - 12 months. Listed below are steps that you will have to implement to gain ISO certification.
Allocate Resources
Plan to success by properly allocating the right amount of resources towards your certification.
Establish Your Baseline Status
Certification begins by determining your companies present status in regards to the ISO 9001 standards. Once a baseline has been established our consultants will perform gap analysis as a means to plan and schedule resources towards certification.
Develop the System
ISO certification is designed to increase the internal controls that affect efficiency, and quality. We will work to identify areas that do not meet the requirements of ISO 9001.
Our Goal is to improve your company controls for both certification and improved efficiency and performance.
Audit the System
Our consultants will audit internal risk (risk audit) for all of the system to ensure that the systems are compliant.
Choose an Auditor/External Audit
After a successful internal audit, a request will be made to engage a accredited certifier or 'register' who will perform an official audit.
Have the External Audit
Your certifier audits your quality system against all of the specific requirements of ISO 9001. It's a rigorous test of your quality management system.
Receive the Certificate
Upon a successful external audit, your company will become ISO 9001 certified. You will now be able to promote your company as ISO 9001 certified.
Maintain Certification
ISO certification for a three (3) year period. You will need to have your company audited every three years to maintain your ISO 9001 certification.
